INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. kosher salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 c. butter softened 

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1/4 c. granulated sugar, plus more for rolling

1/2 c. smooth peanut butter

1 egg

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2 tbsp. milk

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven at 375 degrees; meanwhile, take two large baking sheets and line them with parchment paper. Take a small bowl, whisk baking soda, white flour, and salt to combine well. 
  • Take a large bowl and beat peanut butter and butter using a hand mixer until a smooth paste is formed. Add sugar and beat until the mixture turns light in color and becomes fluffy. Beat egg and then add vanilla, milk and mix to combine well. Now gradually keep adding flour mixture, stirring slowly to combine.
  • Take a tablespoonful of cookie dough and roll it, then roll again in sugar. Keep the roll on the baking sheet and repeat the process with the remaining cookie dough.
  • Bake the cookie rolls until they poof and look cooked. Bake them for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Take them out of the oven and immediately top the cookies with Hershey Kisses before serving.

Santa’s Trash Cookies

These delicious Christmas cookies are loaded with sprinkles, chocolate chips, potato chips, and pretzels for a sweet-salty dessert to fulfill your cravings. This is one of our favorite holiday cookie recipes.

INGREDIENTS

1 c. (2 sticks) butter softened

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1/2 c. granulated sugar

2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 tsp. baking soda

2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour

3/4 c. crushed potato chips

1/4 tsp. kosher salt

1 1/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

3/4 c. crushed pretzels

1/2 c. red and green sprinkles

Flaky sea salt, for garnish

 DIRECTIONS

  • The first step first, preheat the oven at 350 degrees and, meanwhile, get your baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 
  • Take a large bowl beat cream, sugar, and butter together using a hand mixer for 3-4 minutes until the mixture turns fluffy. 
  • Then beat in vanilla and egg to combine properly.
  • Take another large bowl and whisk baking soda, flour, and salt until combined nicely. Add all the dry ingredients to wet and combine them nicely.
  • Gradually fold in pretzels, potato chips, sprinkles, and chocolate chips and reserve some for topping. 
  • Use a medium cookie scoop and scoop out the dough ball on a lined baking sheet. 
  • Press the cookie dough rolls lightly to flatter each cookie and press in pretzels, potato chips, sprinkles, and chocolate chips. On top, sprinkle a bit of flaky salt.
  • Bake the cookies for about 14 minutes until you notice the edges getting golden.
  • Take them out of the oven and let them cool for about 2-3 minutes and transfer to a cooling rack.

Creme Brulee Sugar Cookies

This is another one of our easy and best holiday/Christmas cookie recipes filled with caramelized sugar.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE COOKIES

3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter softened

2 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 c. granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract

1/4 tsp. kosher salt

2 tsp. cornstarch

1 tsp. baking soda

FOR THE FROSTING

1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened

one 1/4 c. powdered sugar

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1/4 c. granulated sugar

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Take two baking sheets and line them with parchment paper. 
  • Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk sugar and cream butter for 3-4 minutes until fluffy. Now beat in vanilla and egg.
  • Take another bowl and whisk cornstarch, flour, baking soda, and salt to combine well. Now add dry mixtures to the wet ingredients and keep mixing until smooth. Keep the dough thick.
  • Take a small-sized cookie scoop and place a tablespoon of cookie dough balls on the lined baking sheet. Press the rolls down slightly to flatten using your hands. Bake the cookies for about 9-10 minutes until the edges start to turn golden brown.
  • Remove the baked cookies from the oven and keep them aside to cool down for 3-4 minutes. Transfer them onto a cooling rack.
  • To make the frosting, beat the cream cheese to form a smooth paste. Add vanilla, sugar and combine well.
  • Put sugar in a  small bowl. Layer each cookie with one tablespoon of frosting, then sprinkle granulated sugar to coat the frosting.
  • When serving, use the kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on top of the frosting, and let them cool. You can store cookies in your fridge for up to 4 days.

Thumbprint Cookies

This is another one of the best Christmas holiday cookies that are even Santa’s favorite. Warm jam in the center of a buttery shortbread base makes this a delight to eat.

INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

1/2 tsp. kosher salt

1 large egg

1/2 c. granulated sugar

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1/3 c. assorted jams, for filling cookies

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven at 350 degrees and line the baking sheets with parchment paper. 
  • Take a large bowl and add baking powder, flour, and salt.
  • Take another bowl to beat sugar and butter until the mixture is fluffy and pale for 3 minutes. Now add in vanilla and egg and beat again. When done, add all the dry ingredients and combine well. 
  • Take a small-sized cookie scoop and scoop out cookie dough balls and keep them onto lined baking sheets. Press the thumbprint on the center of each cookie ball, ½ deep. Fill the space with a small spoonful of jam.
  • Bake the cookies for 13-14 minutes until the cookie edges turn golden brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool down before serving.

Peppermint Pattie-Stuffed Chocolate Cookies

This is not your regular cookie dough; it is made using chocolate cake mix and filled with the goodness of fudgy peppermint patties. 

INGREDIENTS

1 box chocolate cake mix

1 tsp. baking powder

2 large eggs

1/2 c. canola oil

14 York Peppermint Pattie Minis

Sprinkles, for decorating

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven at 35 degrees and line the baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Take a large bowl, whisk baking powder and cake mix together. In another bowl, combine oil and eggs together using a hand mixer. Now add wet ingredients to the dry and stir nicely to combine well.
  • Form small dough balls using your hands and keep them on the lined sheet. Flatten the balls and place the peppermint patty in the center of each cookie. Fold over the dough and cover the patty.  Repeat the process with the remaining cookie dough.
  • Top the cookies with a sprinkle and bake for 8-10 minutes until nicely cooked. Take them out of the oven, let them cool on the baking sheet, and then transfer them onto a cooling rack.

Lemon butter cookies

INGREDIENTS

2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour

1 1/4 tsp. baking powder

3/4 tsp. kosher salt

10 tbsp. butter softened 

1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened

1 1/4 c. granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp. finely grated lemon zest

1/4 c. fresh lemon juice

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

10 drops yellow food coloring

3/4 c. powdered sugar

DIRECTIONS

  • Take a medium-sized bowl to whisk salt, flour, and baking powder together. 
  • Take another large-sized bowl and beat cream cheese, sugar, and butter using a hand mixer for 2 minutes until it’s fluffy and light. Beat lemon zest, eggs, vanilla, lemon juice, and food color. Now add all the remaining dry ingredients and combine well.
  • Cover the dough with a plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for min 2 hours. You can also leave it overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line two baking sheets using parchment paper. Roll the dough into 2 balls and roll in again in powdered sugar.
  • Let the balls sit for 2 minutes until all the sugar is absorbed. Reroll the rolls in powdered sugar. Keep them on a baking sheet and bake the cookies for 18-20 minutes until they crackle.
  • Transfer the cookies to a rack and let them cool down completely.
