Joann Mueller Buss Dies at the age of 86
JoAnn Mueller Buss, the parents of Lakers co-owners Jeanie, Janie, and Johnny, passed away at age 86. She was an incredible friend who touched many lives with her kindness, including those in mine! I’m glad we were able to spend so much time together over the years–we will always remember how much laughter there is. Always seemed like everywhere you went when she had something funny happen involving food or cooking recipes.
She met her future husband at the University of Wyoming, and they had a successful business career together.
M Mueller spent most childhood years living in Boise with an older sister who taught school until their parents sold the house because it no longer fit into our budgets after Mom had given birth to twin boys-her final two siblings.

We moved across state lines during high school, where we were more often than not enrolled outside normal class hours so as not to interfere too much; there wasn’t always time for everything, even if you wanted something badly enough–which I do. It felt great being able to get anything my heart desired.
The Buss family asked that donations be made instead of flowers to the American Cancer Society or Lakers Youth Foundation.
“Sad day for all us,” said co-owner Joey commentating on his wife’s passing away in an interview with ABC News; he also offered condolences on Twitter from LeBron James – one such star player whose career she helped shape while managing many aspects behind the scenes.
